Let the Fashion Show Begin!

The Annual Costume Institute Gala was held last night at Manhattan's Metropolitan Opera House. This year's event celebrates the work of Paul Poiret, an artist and couturier considered France's "King of Fashion" before World War I.

Every year Style Spotter looks forward to this major fashion event. This is the event where one must be fashionable, daring and clever with their choice of gowns. This is the event where couture reigns and playing it safe mean go home!

Check out a few of Style Spotter's best and worse dressed.

ME AND MY HOMIE
Designers and celebs go hand and hand in an event like this where it is truly all about the clothes.

Eva Mendes & Michael Kors

Winona Ryder & Marc Jacobs

Hilary Swank & Donatella Versace

Lucy Lui & Zac Posen

COLORS, COLORS, COLORS
The use of color has a way of forcing you to stand out. One must be confident, very certain of themselves and not afraid to be noticed.

Cameron Diaz in John Galliano

Kristen Dunst in Vintage YSL

Rosario Dawson in Roberto Cavalli

Rachel Roy in Rachel Roy

TAKE THAT EFFIN' RISK
There is something to be said for those who take a risk and succeed. Style Spotter sees these women as risk GRABBERS who overcame the risk of dress/suite choices for the night.

Iman w/ David Bowie looks distinguished and elegant in Stella McCartney.

Mary Kate Olsen donned a feather gown and was able to wear the dress, as oppose to the dress wearing M.K.

Rhianna has turned into a "bad" girl in this gown with lace gloves.

Angie Harmon stunted in her bejewelled yellow and green gown.

LOVES IT!
I just loves these gowns and feel as if they need to be seen!

Alicia Keys in Armani Prive

Renne Zellweger in Carolina Herra

Ivanka Trump in Jason Wu

Jennifer Hudson in Michael Kors

NOT SO MUCH
You can't love everything and here are a few dresses Style Spotter would never spot!

Ugh so disappointed Naomi

Parker Posey this is something Style Spotter expects from you, a dress that looks war torn. However, Marc Jacobs you should know better.

Ohhh Ms. Margherita Missoni why????
