Movie premiers have a way of bringing out beautiful people to the red carpet. And two ladies who were spotted by Style Spotter are Angelina Jolie and Cameron Diaz.

Angie looked stunning in a $26 black vintage dress at the New York premiere of her film A Mighty Heart.

Cameron D. looked so fresh at her Madrid premier for Shrek The Third.

ALICIA KEYS has made our lovely lady of the day! Style Spotter is so happy about this. Why? Because in the past Alicia has looked... well somewhat homely. There it was said. It's been said. Sorry! That does not take away from Alicia's lovely voice and amazing talent! She is and will always be a shining star. However a fashionista she was not, up until now!

Ms. Keys attend the Fresh Air Fund event looking fresh and fun! Thank you Alicia for stepping up your game. And Proactiv does work! (sorry(shrug))

BONO REALLY LOVES AFRICA

Bono was a guest editor for Vanity Fair's July issue. Bono, being Bono, was able to gather "A list" celebs to grace 20 different covers which were all shot by Annie Lebowitz. On each cover the celebs whisper into another's ear in hopes of spreading the message - Bono's idea, which was brilliant.

This post has nothing to do with fashion. Well, it is fashionable to care and so it deserves to be spotted!

Movie Awards FASHION

Of course the MTV Movie Awards are about acknowledging the awesome movies. But you cannot have an awards show and not talk about the red carpet fashion. Well in this case the pink carpet.

On June 3rd, MTV rolled out all the stops to produce an action pack show, full of adventure (Paris Hilton goes to jail!), comedy (Sarah Silverman talks about penis and balls) and drama (Cameron Dian and Jessica Biel avoid one another on the carpet).

But for Style Spotter the highlight of the show was spotting fresh fashion on the sweet pink carpet. However there was none to be found :(

Celebs played it safe and ordinary. (shrug) There was no excitement, no thrill, no jealous shriek of how Style Spotter covets a dress. Do you agree or disagree? Here are a few pics:

You know you are not suppose to drink alcohol and take antibiotics! And this past Memorial day you are rolling on the floor screaming, you are about to die?! What is that about!

However it must be stated that Barton shot a fashion spread for French Elle and killed it! Maybe she was taking antibiotics and drinking alcohol. Whatever the case she looked extremely amazing, ridiculously elegant and insanely polished.

Don't die on us yet Mischa! Seems as if you have a lot of great fashion shoots ahead of you!

Mr. Ralph Lauren was honored by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) for a lifetime achievement. Lauren more than deserves it! His expansive career has brought individual style, home style and sports style to the masses. Mr. Lauren, we honor you!

Let's take a quick look at the career life of one of the great American designers:

1978 Polo Western wear launches. Bronx raised Lauren would scourer thrift shops looking for used Levis until he created his own brand of denim.

1978-2001 How can a man with a polo logo not love horses? Lauren gives us the equestrian look. His muse was the avid horse rider.

Trends can be tricky. Trends can be fresh as hell or trends can look horribly foolish. Well Style Spotter has spotted some spring/summer trends that you can try. Send me some pics in these trends! Show our readers how to rock them best!

Finger Free Gloves
This trend started by Karl Lagerfeld, can be seen on the runways as well as on the hands of the hottest "it" girls! It adds a touch of rock and roll to any sweet outfit.

Light Weight Scarves
Spring nights and days (global warming ya'll) can be cool. So wrap a light cotton or silk scarf around your neck to add some extra warmth.

White Mini Dress
White is hot as hell this summer. And the white mini dress is even hotter!

Rainbow Bright Jeans
No it's not 1987, but color jeans has made a major comeback in 2007. While we are in a sea of whites this summer, stand out in bold jean colors.

Cut Off
Please do not buy cut off jeans. Style Spotter is so serious. It is so unnecessary. Take an old pair of jeans and cut them to the length (shorter the better) that works best for you. Or go to salvation army and buy used jeans and cut those. It will make Style Spotter very upset to hear you spend $150 on cut off shorts!

Yo' Mama Jeans
Personally Style Spotter will always LOVE the skinny jean. It makes legs look long, sleek and... well skinny. However this season brings us different styles. High waisted jeans and full flared jeans are back in full effect. No longer reserved for stay at homes moms!

Karl Lagerfeld, one of Style Spotter's fav. designers, is the head designer of his own line and most importantly head designer at The House of Chanel.

Mr. Lagerfeld brought his audacious, over-the-top personality to the Chanel "Resort" show on Friday, May18th at a Santa Monica plane hangar. The theme: Jet Set. The clothes: Spectacular The mood: Energized. There was a standing ovation even before the models hit the runway. When the models did emerged, they came out from Challenger 601 jets which approached the runway.

"Airports and flying have become a nightmare," Lagerfeld had said backstage a few minutes earlier. "L.A. is about the dream of private jets and beautiful cars and glamour. Cruise collections are about the dream of freedom."

High fashion model Kate Moss and high fashion designer Donatella Versace both had in-store events this week.

Moss' U.K. Top Shop line has made it's way to the U.S. via Barneys of all places. The moderately priced line which offers a pretty girl rock and roll sensibility will offer 26 pieces to all Moss clones.

Also Ms. Donatella introduced her new perfume, Versace to the Saks Fifth Avenue patrons. "A woman is not completely dressed without a few drops of fragrance," said the designer, who supervised the creation of the day-to-night scent, which contains notes of black currant, lotus flower, angel wing jasmine, and purple wisteria.

The Annual Costume Institute Gala was held last night at Manhattan's Metropolitan Opera House. This year's event celebrates the work of Paul Poiret, an artist and couturier considered France's "King of Fashion" before World War I.

Every year Style Spotter looks forward to this major fashion event. This is the event where one must be fashionable, daring and clever with their choice of gowns. This is the event where couture reigns and playing it safe mean go home!

Short skirts, shorter shorts and mini dresses are all key clothing stapes for the Spring and Summer heat. But before you look like a streetwalker try to not show so much skin on top. Also remember to keep legs moist, soft and blemish free. Exfoliate legs every other day. (keep lotion in purse at all times!)

25 Years of Madonna

For twenty-five years Madonna has been entertaining us, intriguing us and giving us something to think about.

The 48-year-old sensation will celebrate her 25 years in the music industry by planing a huge party and a special multimedia release. In an interview with the International Herald Tribune, the sexy singer says, "I'm thinking about doing a 25-year retrospective — multimedia, with video and photographs of me by Mario Testino, Herb Ritts, Steven Klein and Steven Meisel."

Style Spotter and hubby were having a big debate over cars and why one person needs so many vehicles to drive. Hubby has three cars and does not drive them all at once! Simply impossible! So why is it necessary?

His answer: "The same reason why you need all those bags!"

While Style Spotter was in London The Face of Fashion exhibit was showcased at the National Portrait Gallery. The exhibit displays portraits by well-known fashion photographers from Europe and America. Mert Alas, Marcus Piggot, Corinne Day, Steven Klien (my personal favorite), Paolo Roversi and Mario Sorrenti have all contributed to the exhibit, which is at times haunting, but all around striking.

Take a look through the camera phone lens (which, later Style Spotter found that photos were not permitted! Yikes) into a the world where fashion is disturbing as well as glamorous.

Fashion and Graffiti?

Fashion and graffiti, who would have known that these two creative forces could be combined. Well, when you have women at the hem of course graffiti can be oh so fabulous! Women are changing the way we look at what was once known as "gritty" street art.

CLAW

Claw a New York City native has been tagging for 19 years. Her signature symbol a "W" shaped two-toned paw has been seen in L.A. and in Europe as well. Claw, who is the fashion director at Swindle Magazine also has her own collection of sunglasses, called CLAWMONEY, which are handmade in Japan. She has also created a line of silk bombers made of vintage fabrics. Think 1980's Versace.

LADY PINK

Widely known as the 1st female graffiti artist in NYC, Lady Pink along with her artist hubby organizes groups to tag in dilapidated areas of New York City, adding color to grey abandoned areas of the metropolitan . "We were painting trains trying to figure out what to do when we grew up, not knowing that it was right there in front of us."

FAFI

The 31-year-old South of France native brings sexiness to graffiti with her Betty Boop-esque caricatures. While Fafi started tagging in the early 1990's, she has just wrapped up a collection for Adidas and is now designing bright, colorful, fun, imaginative bags for LeSportsac coming this spring.

UK STYLE

Style Spotter is back from a fabulous, decadent vacation in London and Amsterdam. A European vacation was well needed, well deserved and well fashioned.

Style comes from all over the world. And the Style Spotter was there to spot the style seen in the designs of buildings, landscape and of course in clothes!

At 9:00 pm Greenwich Mean Time the Style Spotter and her handsome companion made their way through the busy London section of Earl’s Court. Exhausted but somewhat wired; food, a bed and two pillows were all that was needed at that moment.

K+K HOTEL GEORGE - our residence for a few days

Next day on Sunny Sunday morning the streets of London led Style Spotter to Green Park via tube (nothing like NYC trains!) where tourists and locals alike filled the grounds of the park, Buckingham Palace and The House of Parliament. London is truly a magnificent city full of history, art, humor (love the Charlotte Church Show!) and life. Very proper indeed!

But atlas Amsterdam awaits, So Style Spotter and handsome companion were off to the city of sex, drugs and beauty!

Unfortunately whatever happens in Amsterdam stays in Amsterdam. So Style Spotter cannot report on this leg of the trip. However, what can be said is that there were plenty of bikes, wonderful canals, which flowed through the city and lots of shopping!

EUROPEAN STYLE
Most Europeans have a great, aerodynamic sensibility when it comes to fashion. Whether the look is polished or soft core rock and roll, European style comes with its own personality. However, right now, Europeans have a strong fascination with our “It” Girls – La Lohan, Ms. Ritchie and of course everyone’s favorite hate-able heiress, Paris Hilton. In London, Style Spotter also spotted a California girl impression of style, which some Londoners pull off flawlessly, with balloon sized topes, skinny jeans and cute, comfortable flats.

TRENDS
The biggest trend in the U.K. right now is the spring dress. Buy them a Harrods, Topshop, Monsoons or H&M. In the May 2007 issue of Vogue’s Snip magazine fashion editors give their readers great advice. Here are a few of my favorite:

ALL DRESSES FROM TOPSHOP, LONDON

“Dresses are the buys of the summer; they’re perfect for day and night, the beach and the workplace. All you need is tanned legs and a pair of flat sandals or clumpy platforms. Dresses are also a great way to introduce color and print into your wardrobe”

Only an effin' fashionista like Naomi Campbell could be found guilty of a crime and look fabulous serving her community service sentence. Check out the photos below of Ms. Campbell and please take note. No matter how much trouble one may be in, one must always look fierce!

DAY ONE

On Naomi's first day she was fashionable, but understated wearing a black swing trench and black lace up boots.

DAY TWO, THREE and FOUR

Second, third and fourth days Naomi showed that she was ready to work. Ready to work her very own catwalk! Her looks maintain her fierce attitude without compromising the task at hand.

FIFTH DAY

The showstopper. Now this is how you end what could have been a very embarrassing moment in one's life. You look absolutely breathe taking. Ms. Campbell looked stunning in a silver gown, with the top trend of the season, a corset belt wrapped around her tiny waist. Perfection.

Today's Pretty Lady of the Day is none other than Kelly Rowland. I must say I am so very proud of Ms. Rowland being one third of a superstar girl group and living in the shadow of beautiful Beyonce, I am sure was never easy, but Rowland pulls it off with such ease that her beauty tends to radiate from within and shines outwardly.

And while her look has changed throughout the years from short red-black hair to long jet back hair, Rowland's smile seem to stay with her where ever she goes

The Very First Day of Spring

Spring has finally arrived, which means, we are only a hop, skip and a twirl away from packing closets with spring's latest trends. So get your fashion diaries out, check off items on your wish list and let's get to the trends!

LWD

Due to it's slimming effect, the little black dress is still the best staple for day and night, but the little white dress (lwd) is this season favorite choice and helps you to stand out in a sea of muted earth toned colors. Like the black dress, the white dress can be worn in many different styles. Ruffles, lace, sheer or constructed, slip on the white dress and get ready to be noticed!

COLOR

Blue Hues and Yellow Coloring You can not be in spring and not wear something that is bright and full of color. This year's colors are blue and yellow, to be worn together or separately. The blue hues help to bring out any eye color. And yellow looks brilliant on brown, tanned skin.

BLACK AND WHITE PRINTS

Black and White prints are as close and as cool as Stevie Wonder and Frank Sinatra's hit Ebony and Ivory. Most of the prints stay in breezy, flowery shapes. And because of the stark contrast any shape will most definitely pop!

SHUT UP AND BE PRETTY

Feel pretty, be pretty and have this season's biggest trend, the pretty dress. What makes these dresses so delightful are the flowers that adorn them, which can make one feel as if they are in a botanical garden. Tulle is shaped and formed like flowers, big huge flower prints cover simple dresses and flower beds and silk blossoms make any constructed dress or gown much softer.

METALICA

Metallic, silver bronze or gold, is one trend that Style Spotter believes will forever come and go. When buying metallic please try not to buy a bright metallic that will burn others' eyes as you walk down the street in the spring sun. Soften the glare by wearing a muted metallic.

VOLUME

Volume is no longer just for your hair but for dresses, skirts, shirts and even pants! Tiers of fabrics make any clothing item appear to have volumes and with pants think MC Hammer pants or Egyptian pants with lots of volume between your legs.

LIKE, TOTALLY AWESOME

Style-Spotter has infinity for anything 80s. And this season the 80's once again makes a come back. Bandage minis, fluorescent dresses and anything punk rock will do!

FUTURISTIC

Funny how the 80's and the futuristic clothing are two big trends in one season. This season seems as if designers studied Star Wars. C-3PO gold leggings, Darth Vader-esque patent leather coats and capes and plastic card cut out formed into a cocktail dress keep you light years ahead of the rest.

SKINNY OUT - CHUNKY IN

Skinny heels are so not necessary for this spring. Chunky thick heals, platforms, wedges are so great and comfortable.

SJP Gets "Bitten" for Cheap

Sarah Jessica Parker is known for her high-end clothing. She is one of the biggest style icons in America today. She probably has every couture and ready-to-wear designer fashionable hanging on iron hangers in her 5 million dollar brownstone in New York City.

So who would have thought that the style icon would come out with a very low-end line with everything being $20 or less? Do they still make clothes that affordable? Style Spotter finds it very interesting and somewhat humorous that the woman known for expensive, fabulous clothing would come out with a line geared towards, dare we say... poor people! Gasp!

Her clothes-for-everyone line, called "Bitten" is a joint venture with mall-based collegiate wear seller Steve & Barry's. The label's launch is June 7.

Parker sought out Steve & Barry's after learning of the company's philosophy to offer high-quality merchandise at the lowest possible prices.

"Women should be able to wear great clothes and not lie in bed at night feeling guilty about how much money they've spent," Parker said in a statement.

The tagline for the collection reads: "Fashion is not a luxury, it's a right."

The company said the label will consist of about 500 clothing items and accessories, including knit shirts, wool and cashmere sweaters, dresses, lingerie, jeans, jewelry and footwear.

Naomi Campbell was spotted leaving London's Heathrow Airport looking fresh and fabulous! But can she maintain her style as she has recently been sentenced to mop the floors of New York’s Sanitation Department?

The fashionista was found guilty of throwing her Swarovski crystlized phone at her maid, Ana Scolavino. Campbell will now pay for her mean-ness by adorning an orange New York City sanitation vest from spring's 2007 garbage route line!

H&M has done it again! The low-end priced with high-end looks chain store has hired Madonna to create a spring 2007 line titled M by Madonna. Madonna has worked with the store in the past to create a sports line, but this new line is much flirtier, stream lined and strong.

H&M asked the disco-pop queen to create a look that represented her timeless, but every changing style.

"I've made no secret of my love of fashion over the years. Working with Margareta and H&M was an exciting and new creative challenge for me. I'm really happy with the results and look forward to wearing 'M by Madonna' along with the rest of the world", concluded Madonna.

March Make-Over Madness

Lovely Lady of the Day

Kerry Washington is our Lovely Lady of the Day. Ms. Washington was spotted at the "I Think I love My Wife," L.A. movie premiere. She is one of the co-stars in the flick, which stars funnyman Chris Rock.

Washington wore a beautiful, vibrant yellow dress with black and white flowers detailed on the bottom half of the dress. Her hair was soft and her make-up was simple and gorgeous.

NAACP AWARDS

The Oscars came and went just as quick as Eddie Murphy after finding out he did not win a coveted golden statue.

Although the show itself was extremely long and somewhat boring, Oscar fashion was anything but.

RED CARPET DRESSES
Changes through out the night allowed Oscar winner, Jennifer Hudson and Beyonce Knowles to serve us different looks through out the night. Both red carpet looks lacked any real excitement. J.Hud's chocolate chiffon Oscar de la Renta gown was cute but most definitely not worthy of the OSCARs. It certainly lacked GLAMOUR. Her python gold bolero jacket should have been saved for lunch at The Ivy. Fashion king Andre Leon Talley dressed her for the night and Style Spotter was so disappointed. Mr. Talley is known for his dramatic style and he should have lent some of his drama to Ms. Hudson.

Beyonce lazily wore her red carpet dress. The mint green crystal-adorned one-strap Armani Privé gown did nothing for the sexy siren.

PERFORMANCE DRESSES
Red has the ability to scream “Here I am look at me!” And the red gowns that both Hudson and Knowles rocked for their Dreamgirl’s performance was like pepper. Knowles wore an empire waist dress with a lace bodice, while Ms. Hudson was securely draoed in her sparkle red gown.

PARTY TIME!
At the Vanity Fair Oscar party both ladies looked simply divine. Both wore a gold/flesh color dress, which should have been worn on the red carpet. Hudson’s Roberto Cavalli dress was however a little too tight fitted. Bey’s dress was much sweeter and sexy. She has the ability at times to mix sweet and sexy together and she does that well.

What could one gorgeous Georgia Peach and her fabulous friend wear to an event such as the One Hundred Black Men Gala? Something truly fabulous indeed, after all, there were one hundred men there for goodness sakes!

Bridget and her friend Natalie were invited to the gala, but Bridget had a dilemma. What should she wear? Two choices, one dress!

Choice one: A strapless Luella Bartley cocktail dress with a tight bodice, which flared at waist. The Bartley dress was already in Bridget’s closet, which she could easily throw on for the event.

Choice two: A comfortable and might we add, new dress from Zara’s 2007 spring line. The best part of this pretty black and white dress was the chain link straps, which gave it a Rock n’ Roll edge. Check the photo below to see what dress Ms. Bridget decided on!

Besides reporting fashion news and trends, the Style Spotter's main mission is to... well, spot style of course! In order to be spotted one must have a unique sense of style. One must be daring, chic and fresh. One must also love fashion. Style Spotter spotted Lika and knew she had to be the first fashion profile.

Lika's sense of style is as individual as a snowflake. She mixes a little bit of American Punk with Tokyo Neo style. We stopped Lika in the halls of UNSAID company because she was killing us with her retro hat, blinding us with the jewels around her neck that are so in for spring and spewing confidence from her 3 inch heels.

Below Lika graciously answers a few fashion questions for the Style-Spotter.

Describe your fashion style.
It's a matter of balance for me. I don't like to put myself in a certain category but my style is definitely influenced by punk and of the fashions of Japan. Not to sound all Gwen Stefani, but it's not surprising that she has the Harajuku Girls in the background (although they don't dress nearly as impressive as the real ones on the streets of Takeshitadoori). It's also the way you present yourself too. Whenever I try out something new or something outside of your comfort range, let's say the hat that I'm wearing in the picture for example, I'm extra careful about my posture. With a good posture you'll look confident in it even if you aren’t.

Animals can be as fashionable as humans. Who wouldn't kill for a coat like the tigers' or leopards'! (OK maybe not the PETA folks.) So, what is your fashion animal and why? Mine is a sheep I would want to stay warm, especially in this horrid cold. I like the look of the fur it's nice, soft and cozy. It also comes in different shades of white and brown.
This is a very, very interesting question and a hard one to answer. I'll say hermit crabs. They change their shells every so often if I remember correctly. I like to have options. Are they the only animals that can do that?

STYLE SPOTTER DESPISES WINTER

Winter is not Style Spotter's favorite season. Winter does make Style Spotter grin like spring, when flowers are in bloom, when small birds sing sweet tunes or when big, heavy coats are packed away. And winter is definitely not like summer, when the sun smiles down on us, when blue skies blow soft winds or when flirting is just fine, because everyone shows more skin in the summer heat.

Winter, Style Spotter despises winter! But you still have to be fashion conscious, even today when it is snowing tiny particles of ice and when the weather is too cold for you to think. Your most important fashion item, besides your winter coat it your winter footwear.

Grammys 2007

When you have the return of the Police, an almost flawless tribute to James Brown and an aspiring, unknown singer who rocks the stage with Mr. Sexy himself Justin Timberlake, you better believe that you are going to have one awesome, amazing, and even heartfelt show. And that's exactly what the 2007 Grammys brought to millions of viewers on Sunday, February 11th.

So we know the show was great, but what about the fashion?

Celebs that walked the red carpet generally played it safe this year. Except for the minor fashion misfit who thought it would be great to be styled by Kermit the Frog, fashion was almost too perfect.

Even rocker Pink, who makes it her mission, no her job to stir things up on the carpet, attended this year’s Grammys dressed as an "Hollywood It" girl, whom she so famously despises. Pink wore a vintage black, sequined Hervé Leger gown. But, it must be stated that she kept the rocker chic alive with her blonde faux-hawk and multiple visible tattoos. Pink is this year's Grammy Fashion Winner. Not because her dress was more magnificent than any other girl, but because she stepped up and stepped out of her usual hard core rocker fashion look. Applause.

Moving along, one of the trends from this year's Grammy red carpet proved that short is so sweet. Short dresses made a huge impact on the carpet as hem lines rose way above the knees, showing off sexy, toned legs. Hot girls, Fergie, Ciara, Vanessa Manillo and Nelly Furtado, demonstrated how legs should look when you want to show them off.

Another trend we saw on the red carpet was metallic, which tends to be very hard to pull off. Jamie Foxx wore a silver metallic jacket and it appeared as if it was made of aluminum foil, but none the less his jacked was well fitted and he was well groomed. Justin Timberlake also wore a metallic, grey suite, but the color was muted and did not have such an intense gloss to it. John Mayer, however, stayed away from any metallic look by wearing a black Armani tuxedo paired with Nikes. Mayer looked refined and cool, with his mix of a proper suite and fresh sneakers.

Sequins, crystals and sparkles oh my, were worn by Carrie Underwood, Mary J. Blige and Corrine Baily Rae. These celebs shined like the stars they are and that, ladies and gentlemen, is the absolute biggest trend of the year. Shine on! Shine on!

Marc, Marc, Marc

Marc Jacobs is the true definitive New York designer. Jacobs is witty and smart and it shows in his designs. With his ability to bring new and fresh to the runway, it was thrilling to see he has not lost his creativity with all that has been going on in his personal life. But this is not a tabloid blog, but a fashion blog. So let's get to the fashion!

If one word can be used to describe Jacobs's show it would be simple-decadence... ok so maybe that's two words. But, perhaps is takes two words to describe Jacobs designs because it almost feels as if you are in two different countries, during two different time periods, 1940s America and 1970s Paris. Jacob's fall 2007 line impeccably fuses American sportswear with European sense of style.

With the use of rich satins and multi-colored brimmed hats, Jacobs, it seems, was inspired by the style of Katherine Hepburn. His designs were strong and sharp, simple but luscious. He could make any partying "It Girl" into a proper lady.

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK DAY TWO

Style-Spotter is a day late for the New York Fashion Week shows, which began yesterday, Monday, February 5th. Fashion waits for no one! So let's get to today's fashion news.

Fashion Week is always a big event here in New York City. Fabulousness just oozes out of botox shots, five inch Manolos can be heard pounding the New York City pavement and coffee breath masks the usual air pollution. Fashion and the City are once again the best of friends as stylists, fashion editors, heiresses, actresses and fashionistas make there way to Manhattan for a whirlwind of shows and parties.

Wrapped up in a full length baby brown sherling, Style-Spotter braves the artic New York winter weather and heads over to Bryant Park, hoping to check out some favorite designers.

First on the list: Isaac Mizrahi. Oh, we so do love Mr. Mizrahi! He always manages to bring his upbeat, charismatic personality to everything he does. Whether he is host of a show or designing clothes, Mizrahi is always fun!

For his fall 2007 ready-to-wear line Mizrahi wanted to bring spring into fall. He declared in an interview that spring is the new fall, hence his show title Frozen Spring. "I want something that feels like spring, something light and seasonless. It makes me sad to look at the same old tweeds." And believe me, there is nothing tweed like about his fall line. His tongue and cheek replacements for tweed... flowers and feathers! No seriously. Mizrahi showed that fall can be taken in a completely different direction.

Now while Style Spotter did not love everything about the line, we can surely appreciate his idea of giving us a little bit of spring during fall's cool days and nights. Using winter white as a backdrop, Mizrahi creates a dress that almost gives the appearance of roses floating on a cloud. Big and small roses cover the bottom of the dress, while a neat bow is wrapped in the front of the dress. Fur trim on the hem makes the dress very sweet and charming. But if you are looking for a dress that is a little less charming and more dramatic then you will love Mizrahi's white gown than is tastefully sprinkled with white feathers on the bottom half of the dress. Some dresses are just show stoppers and this one is!

The Posers

Hollywood is now in full swing of the 2007 award season, so please take a moment to acknowledge “The Posers.” No, not those group of people who masquerade on the red carpet pretending to be A-list when they are actually a few letters further down the alphabet. The Posers in reference are the ones who teach celebrities how to pose on the red carpet.

“There are simple things that can be done to make you look that much better or that much taller,” says Mac Folkes, runway coach and movement teacher at Ford Model Agency.

The whole idea of The Poser is to help celebs accentuate their look while taking photos on the carpet. The Posers instructs in how to capture the light so that your skin looks flawless or how to position your face a certain way so that a bumpy nose looks like a button or by slightly turning to the left or right one can minimize that pouch belly.

In order to master the carpet, Folkes suggest, “Practice, practice, practice. Look in the mirror. See what works best for you. Have a friend come over and critique you. Or better yet, hire a professional.”

Folkes also believes that celebrities should look natural on the red carpet. “Some of the red carpet shots look so contrived,” says Folkes. “Celebrities should look as if they are not caught posing, but as if a photographer has caught them looking beautiful.”

And Beyonce Knowles is one of the celebs who Folkes believes was caught posing.

Knowles has been given much flank for her hand-on-back-of-head stance, exposing her underarms as she sashays down the red carpet. Gossip blogs and weekly tabloid magazines had a field day publishing pictures of Beyonce and her pits.

“You have to be a pretty brave mama to be putting your hand on your head,” says body-language expert, Patti Wood who analyzed this pose for the February 9th issue of Entertainment weekly. “It’s typically a male posture. It’s called the ‘cape and the crown’ [meaning] I’m in charge. I’m royalty.”

Well then perhaps, Knowles would like this to be her signature pose. Many celebrities in Hollywood have a pose that they do for each red carpet event. Jennifer Hudson has her hand-on-hip, back arched pose that slenderizes her full figure frame. Vivica A. Fox masters the one-foot-in-front-of-the-other pose. And Renée Zellweger is known for the over-the-shoulder pose, which Folkes says is now “so played out.”

“Cate Blanchett is the queen of the carpet. Why? Because she always looks amazing and regal,” says Folkes. And that is exactly how you want to look on the red carpet.
